AwesomeawesomeawesomeAWESOME!!!

BEHOLD! AppleTV is the coolest thing EVER!

We got ours yesterday. Think "iPod for TV." Go to iTunes, buy your shows (most of the ones we watch are available), then watch them at your leisure. NO MORE CABLE. NO MORE COMMERCIALS!! You can download entire seasons, or just one episode at a time. Single episodes run about $2 a pop, seasons vary based on what show it is. Hot new stuff can be around $45, but most of our stuff is $25 - $30.

Sounds like a lot, but think about how many shows you ACTUALLY watch. Matt and I have about 4 or 5 between us. 5*30 = $150 for an entire season of our shows. Let's compare that to our current cable bill, shall we? We're currently forking over about $125 MONTHLY to watch these same shows, plus commercials, and 500 channels (most of them devoted to the NHL) that we will never ever watch. Some of which we just had to mostly pray our kids wouldn't stumble on accidentally. One season = roughly 6 months. 125*6 = holy crap, a LOT more than $150. Even if you throw in a couple seasons of kid stuff, there's no adding up to cable costs.

Check out my bad advertising self. Couldn't help it. The preachiness of a new convert CANNOT BE STOPPED!
