THIS is why...

I find the PTA to be semi-evil. (Found at Dave Barry's blog.)

I only joined because they're suburban extortionists. "Each class that gets at least 100% participation in the PTA will get ice-cream!" Meaning, if you don't sign up, neither your child nor any of his friends gets ice cream, and it'll all be YOUR FAULT, you crazy mother-of-a-future-drug-dealing-prostitute.

But I won't go to meetings. That'll show 'em!
