Ben has taken his first Driver's Training course.
Okay, not really, but close. His class took a field trip to Safety Town, an AWESOME hands-on safety course at the fire department. They've built an entire mini-town complete with houses and municipal buildings on a kid-size scale. Then they put first-graders behind the wheel of battery-powered mini-jeeps and let them go. After a good hour or so of instruction, that is. They have to obey real working signals, pass through a real working toll booth, and there are even two drive-through windows (ATM and Babe's Chicken) (mmmmmm... chicken). There were two classes at the field trip, actually, and they took turns driving and being safe pedestrians. It was really flaming cute. And effective. I was impressed, to say the least!
UPDATE: Looks like Matt's working on putting up the rest of my pics from Safety Town over at Burrhaz. Be sure to check it out!
